Samuel Adams- John Hancock’s friend until Samuel Adams was nominated commander in chief in a battle.
John Adams- He was a leader in the Continental Congress before he became Americans 2nd president.
Dolly Quincy- I don’t know if she should be included as an important character, but she is John Hancock’s wife, and she is pretty important when the French officers come.

BEGINNING

John Hancock’s parents die when he is 7 years old. He moves to his rich uncle. Uncle dies when he is 27 years old, he is now the richest man in New England. Then he has all these ships, so one year there came bad news from his ship. King George ( the king of England) has sent a Stamp Act, and that is a bunch of taxes because England doesn’t have enough money for military purposes. But the next year the news is good. England repealed the Stamp Act. So John Hancock throws a tremendous party. Then John Hancock is engaged to be married but actually doesn’t get married because England attacks the room of the blue cupids, where he was going to be married.

MIDDLE-

John Hancock as to escape from Lexington, and when he was safe, he couldn’t just go back to Lexington. And he was one of the delegates from Massachusetts, and he had to go to a meeting with representatives from all of the Colonies, to decide what to do about England. John Hancock then went to Philadelphia for the meeting. There he collected a lot of huzza’s. Meanwhile, people started to look around fro a presindent for Continential Congress. And who didm they pick, of course.John Hancock. John became president of the Continental Congress (which is not the president of the U.S.A). He focused a lot on his signatures. Also, all the members of the Congress wondered if they should declare their independence. Some said ‘Yes, now’, some said ‘No, not yet’. But on July 2nd they said they should declare. It was prepared by Thomas Jefferson. And when it was written john Hancock signed first, with giant swish’s and swirls. Then he said ‘There. King George can read that without his glasses.’ If America one the war, he would be honored as first Signer, if America lost, he would be hanged first. And after that, he wanted to fight in a battle. He was so sure he would fight in the battle that he rearranged his face. But John Adams nominated George Washington 1st and Samuel

END

John fights in a battle, and he gets very wet and cold. He houses 120 French officers for many weeks. John becomes governor 11 times and buys many new, glorious things he wished to be vice president but John Adams won. He had two children and sadly they both died, one from when he was tring on new ice skates the other only lived a few months. He became very sick with leg and head aches, even at the quietest noise he would yell and be raged with anger. He died in October, 1793.

CHARACTERS
My book report book also has a lot of characters. They are;
John Hancock; He is the main character in the book. He signs the Declaration of Independence first and is also really rich. He is so rich, in fact that by the age of 27 he is the richest man in New England.
John Adams; He was the leader of the Continental Congress before he became America’s 2nd president.
Thomas Jefferson; He prepared the Declaration of Independence. He isn’t mentioned that much in this story.
Dolly Quincy; The youngest of the Quincy sisters, and John Hancock’s wife. I don’t know if she should be included as a important character, but she is pretty important throughout the story.

This is my paragraphs that are put together-
